The Spondyloarthritis Research and Treatment Network (SPARTAN) and (GRAPPA) are collaborating on a series of educational CME symposia to further the knowledge about advances in our understanding of the epidemiology, genetics, pathophysiology, clinical features, assessment and management of psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and spondyloarthritis (SpA). The impetus for the initiative is based on the recognition that there have been numerous new developments in scientific understanding of PsA and SpA, new classification criteria, new epidemiologic findings that suggest that the number of patients with these conditions is potentially much greater than previously appreciated, new assessment measures, new emerging therapies, and paradigms of treatment yet a paucity of quality educational formats for the busy rheumatologist.
Since 2012, SPARTAN-GRAPPA has produced more than 35 educational symposia, including the annual post ACR symposium for an international audience in collaboration with ASAS.
Interested in hosting a local symposium? Rheumatologists and state rheumatology societies interested in hosting a future SPARTAN-GRAPPA Educational Symposium in SpA and PsA should contact Philip Mease (GRAPPA) or Joerg Ermann (SPARTAN). The target audience includes community and academic rheumatologists, rheumatology fellows, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
